A Log Line is not protected from theft and cannot have a copyright. Ideas cannot have a copyright and are not protected from theft.  However, screenplays are protected if they have a copyright and/or have been submitted to the writers guild (Writers Guild, East or Writers Guild, West). Therefore, if you have a written screenplay and have a copyright and submitted to the Writers Guild and you submit your Log Line to The Philadelphia Screenplay Fest Competition, then you do not have to worry about theft since you have protected your screenplay. This is why we encourage writers to post their Log Line after you have finished and protected you screenplay.
