this could work! not many WW2 dramas on this subject. Further more it’s historically accurate that some of the most raked Wehrmacht officers were against national-socialism and German anti-Semite politics during that time

Sounds good but the antagonist could use some detail. “Based on real events” detracts from the logline. I’d lose it or at minimum put at the end.

I think this type of period piece would be hard to produce. Maybe depressing too.

      Hey halling86,

The title is the translation of “Die Endllösung” of what the Nazi’s called the Jew problem.
But here it clearly means The Final Solution of the Uninvited Nazi’ ‘wife end her children problem. What to do with them, Kill them – there must not be any witneses of the Holoucast – or keep them alive. She’s the wife of a famous war hero and friend of Hitler. So you see, if there is anything in this movie it is a hook.

Furthermore all must know that this story is only part based on true facts. But this part is the basis of the story. If we would have used the 100% true story, the officer’s wife and her children would have been gassed within 10 minutes of arrival In Treblinka. So no (time for a) story there.

      Regards Rutger

Thanks for rating the logline. Of course it was quite easy to come up with an good story (line)because part of it is based on real events. I could not find a descent title for the screenplay for a long time. The best thing I could come up with is “The Final Solution”, being the English term for Die Endlösung. Here the camp commandant ‘s ‘solution’ for what to do with a few uninvited Nazi guests is to…

I like the title’s layered irony. It’s about trying to save rather than destroy. as the “Final Solution” would imply. The other layer is the victims themselves — not those targeted for death but those accidentally there. A final twist: they’re the oppressor’s own countrymen.

That is unless the true story is based on someone without forged documents to hide their actual identity as enemies of the Reich.

I know. “Why should I care about a damn Nazi family?!! But then again, why did you care about the crew of the blockbuster “Das Boot” or the son of the German camp commandant in “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas”?! It’s all about character grows!!
