Not really sure what to make of this. Seems to me the Marx Brothers just met Fellini in the Animal House. The writer can obviously write well: the format is top notch, the dialogue and the characterization is good. There are funny parts: p40 great description of the dildo; p57 Moses and the dog is funny; p67 Gabriel and the orgasmic wings; p76 rule of God is to love God, p19 the black guy dying; p47 the goofy eyeballs; p48 the Jesus blood splatters; p63 the diapers, p66 the Pope and Vinnie. Some parts were a bit on the nose p26 the gay bishop, p94 the whole Jesus bit. And there are parts that just go on and on (like the radio interview with Mary at the end).
The problem is that no one is going to make this movie. It seems to me like one long SNL sketch (written by the Marx Brothers and directed by Fellini). There really is no structure, no arc, no story as such. It is just one great diatribe on religion, which, as is admitted on p105, is quite easy to make fun of in the first place.
Suggest writer take his considerable skills and employ it in a script that could be made into a movie.
Too many religious inside jokes for me. Entertain the reader not get stuff off your chest.
